Storied Myth | Intro + Giveaway

This is a partnered post. As always, all thoughts and opinions stated herein are my own.

It’s no secret that technology is changing they way we live and learn. As a mother of three children, I embrace technology and try to teach my children how to use it responsibly.

In a day and age filled with portable electronic devices and immediate access to whatever search term you can think of, my children and I are learning how to safely navigate together. Of course there are time restrictions and restricted apps and/or websites, but I try to give my children every opportunity possible to navigate their way safely around the web.

This summer I’ll be using a variety of online and offline resources to keep the “I’m bored” and “I don’t have anything to do” statements at a minimum. I have an arsenal of activities lined up and ready for those lazy days of summer ahead so that I’m not tempted to use the tablets as babysitters.

For the last couple of weeks my children have been playing around with Storied Myth, which is an app that combines the digital world to the physical. It combines storytelling with physical content that makes for a uniquely immersive experience for the user!

Storied Myth has created an immersive world that follows a diverse set of characters on their adventures. Depending on the age of the child, the user can choose to read the adventure, or have the adventure read to them.

The user navigates through the story by turning the virtual pages on the iPad screen. The user can choose to go forwards or backwards, simply by a finger swipe on the screen. As the user makes their way through the adventure, they can solve puzzles right alongside the story characters. With Storied Myth, the stories just don’t live on the pages anymore.

With the drop-down options, the user can go back to the home screen, silence the sounds, and/or silence the reader. My middle child (age 9) did fine reading through the story on his own, my younger child (age 6) had some trouble with some of the bigger words and liked to have the story read to him.

When the story comes to an end, the user will help unlock the door by helping them create the unlock code using the arrows that arrive that are sent to all registered users.
