GoodWorld's 12 Days of Giving campaign

When I see statistics that one in five children go hungry every day because they live in a home where food is not readily available, it breaks my heart to pieces. I can’t imagine not being able to provide for my children and that’s exactly the reason why I wholeheartedly support No Kid Hungry and give back whenever and however I can.

From a very early age, I’ve been teaching my children about the importance of social good. I want them to always be aware and offer a helping hand when possible. From something as simple as holding a door for someone, to buying a family’s meal at a restaurant, I’ve tried to be an example of how I want my children to be.

GoodWorld's 12 Days of Giving campaign runs until December 23rd and gives YOU the opportunity to make a difference this holiday season!

One of the ways we can easily help out and make a difference in our own community is by donating non-perishable food items to our local food bank. But since child hunger is not a localized epidemic, we spread our contributions by donating to No Kid Hungry. And with GoodWorld’s 12 Days of Giving campaign, it’s easier than ever to donate.

GoodWorld’s 12 Days of Giving campaign runs until December 23rd and I encourage you to donate to a cause of your choice. Maybe No Kid Hungry doesn’t pull at your heartstrings, but maybe another GoodWorld nonprofit will. During the 12 Days of Giving, if you #donate to any GoodWorld nonprofit or sign up for GoodWorld, you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win a $1,000 Amazon gift card! Plus, each referral sent out through your GoodWorld dashboard will count as one additional entry to win the $1,000 prize!

Seriously, y’all, donating can’t get any easier than this! They’ve made it easier than ever to give to one of the GoodWorld nonprofits during the 12 Days of Giving campaign.

If you want to #donate to No Kid Hungry, simple click on this link and type #donate + the dollar amount you want to donate. Since I donated $25, my comment was #donate $25. Once you comment, the charity of your choice will reply with a link to complete your donation. I was able to complete my donation in under a minute. That’s how simple it is folks!

Once you complete the one time sign up, if you want to donate to any of the other 1,300 charities, simply leave a #donate comment on Facebook or Twitter and you can trigger an automatic donation with the parameters you set up in the GoodWorld dashboard.

How to Donate on Twitter

To enable donations via your Twitter account, each tweet needs to include the following: the nonprofit’s handle, the amount you are donating, and the hashtag #donate.

I know many of us are strapped for cash this holiday season and it may feel like we don’t have anything to give. But I can assure you, that even $5 goes a long way to someone who has absolutely nothing.

I want my children to grow up with a desire to help others and bring just a little bit of hope to someone who might feel as though they don’t have any left. If I can accomplish that, I’ll be one proud momma.

I have always tried to teach my kids the important of giving back and giving to others. We like to do a surprise Santa gift, where we gather up some things for people we know who are going through a hard time and leave it at their house while they are not home.
