Dove Self Esteem Project | Change the Conversation
This is a partnered post with Mirum Shopper. As always, all thoughts and opinions are all my own.
I can think of a million reasons why I want my children grow up in a different world. A world where hate didn’t exist and love abounded everywhere. A world where people accepted people for who they are. A world where negativity had no place.
Wouldn’t that be a fantastic world to live in?
Sadly, that’s not the world we live in. But, if we all work together to create a more inclusive, more understanding, more loving world, that may be a possibility for the future. Just think, if we made the changes we wanted our children to experience, it’s possible for our world to be different. Maybe not completely different, but even just a little more positive in this world would go a long way.
Dove Self Esteem Project
Did you know that 52% of girls surveyed say that the negativity they see online damages their confidence and self-esteem. While the internet is truly an amazing technology, if it’s used incorrectly it can be absolutely devastating.
Some corners of social media and the internet in general, can make us feel less-than-amazing sometimes. Whether it’s an online bully, or a photoshopped image of a size -2 model, we have to remember that our worth isn’t defined by someone else. It’s also important to remember that our words have power and we need to be extra careful in what we allow to escape our mouths.
With the Dove Self Esteem Project, Dove is encouraging women and girls to change the conversation and make social media a more positive place for beauty and body confidence. And it all begins with the free #SpeakBeautiful bracelet. When you pick up three of your favorite Dove products at Target, you’ll get the bracelet absolutely free. Then, every time you type, you’ll look down and be reminded to put a positive message out there!
Change is going to start with us! I encourage you to get on social media and be the change you want to see in this world. Use the special hashtag [ #SpeakBeautiful ] and start spreading beauty across social media. And by choosing Dove products, you are supporting building self-esteem in 20 million girls by 2020.
Let’s make this happen, y’all!
