Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie Event

This is a partnered post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Yo-kai are everywhere, and everyone is freaking out!” And now people have an even bigger reason to freak out because Yo-kai Watch: The Movie is coming to the big screen.

If you don’t have a young child or tween at home, you may not have had a chance to check out Yo-kai Watch yet. Here’s the quick breakdown:

Yo-kai Watch is a television phenomenon now appearing on Disney XD. The show stars a young boy, Nate, who can see the Yo-kai, mischievous little creatures that cause daily annoyances in the world around him. This ability comes to him after his Yo-kai companion, Whisper, gives him a special watch. With the help of the Yo-kai Watch, Nate can work with his spirit buddies to battle less friendly Yo-kai.

Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie will be in theaters for one day only, October 15, 2016. Get showtimes and theaters to make sure you don't miss it.

Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie

Yo-kai Watch is a cross-media universe with Nintendo games, manga series, television series, and films. The Yo-kai craze is everywhere, and like the show’s everyday hero, Nate, we would be wise to befriend the Yo-kai.

If you’ve ever felt like you couldn’t control the words coming out of your mouth, go ahead and blame the Yo-kai. Actually, I’m going to start blaming all of my mom fails on them and my kids will totally get it.

But a mom-win I’ll take all the credit for is taking the kids to the Yo-kai Watch: The Movie Event. Yo-kai Watch: The Movie is coming to theaters for a one-day only event on October 15, 2016. Check the Fathom Events website for theaters and times.

But you’ll want to share these details with your kids to win some extra mom points:

  • This is the first English-language film! It features the amazing cast of the Disney XD show.
  • Movie attendees will also have a chance to receive the limited edition Hovernyan YO-MOTION YO-KAI Medal, while supplies last.

Want to impress your kids even further?

The Hovernyan YO-MOTION MEDAL is compatible with the YO-KAI WATCH MODEL ZERO from Hasbro, and can also unlock special content in the LEVEL-5 apps Yo-kai Watch Land and Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble and unlock special features and bonuses in the brand-new Nintendo 3DS games YO-KAI WATCH 2: Bony Spirits and YO-KAI WATCH 2: Fleshy Souls. Fans can also collect and store YO-MOTION MEDALS in the YO-KAI MEDALLIUM COLLECTION BOOK from Hasbro.

To do some mom research prior to the event or to let the kids rewatch all their favorite episodes as you build excitement, you can watch full episodes on the official Yo-Kai Watch YouTube channel or the first season on Netflix.
