Fight Against Childhood Cancer

This post is sponsored by Aflac. I was compensated for writing it, but all opinions are 100% mine.

With all the worthy causes to support this time of year, it can be hard to choose one to pledge your support to. There are so many organizations that do such great work with donated funds, the choice can get gut-wrenching. That’s why each year my family sits down and decides what cause is closest to our heart that year. In addition to donating, we also adopt a family from a local organization and buy presents for the children.

It’s one of those feel good experiences where we all just go all the way in and do what we can to support others around us who are less fortunate. Over the years it has taught me a great lesson in humility and has taught my children to be extremely grateful for what they have.

If you love giving back and supporting causes close to your heart like my family does, this year you can join forces with Aflac in the fight against childhood cancer. Aflac has passionately supported this fight for over 20 years and this year they are calling on us (that’s YOU!) to get involved this holiday season through their #Duckprints campaign.

You don’t need money. You don’t need presents. All you need to do is go to social media and use the #Duckprints hashtag. For any Duckprints-related social media activity including the hashtag, Aflac will donate $2 to the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta, in support of childhood cancer treatment and research, up to a whopping $1.5 million dollars!

And to help boost donations and awareness during this year’s holiday season, Aflac developed an online game, “Build Your Own Balloonicle,” where users can create their very own Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloonicle, featuring the beloved Aflac Duck. Every game experience that users share on social media with the #Duckprints hashtag will generate a $2 donation towards treatment and research for childhood cancer.

And new for this year, Aflac introduced Duckchat, an Aflac app where consumers can get custom Aflac Duck emojis and GIFs. The app can be downloaded on either the Apple iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store. Aflac will also donate $2 with each download of Duckchat.

As you can see, there are several ways you can join the fight against childhood cancer this holiday season without leaving your home or spending a dime.
